LightGabler Schedules Session in Thousand Oaks for Nov. 19th

Employment law firm LightGabler is presenting “Everything Old is New Again: The 2019 Employment Law Update,” a half-day seminar in conjunction with the East Ventura County Employer Advisory Council (EAC). The seminar will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to noon (program begins at 8:10 a.m.) at Los Robles Greens Golf Course, West Ballroom (299 South Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks).

California courts and our legislative representatives have been busy in 2018, planning new surprises for employers in 2019. To fully protect the workplace from costly employment disputes and administrative audits, California employers, managers and human resource professionals must stay abreast of the ever-changing landscape of employment laws in our state and cities, as well as cases decided by California and federal courts throughout the year.

In this informative seminar for employers, supervisors and human resource professionals, employment law attorney Jonathan Fraser Light will discuss over 20 employment law issues to consider for 2019. They include required sexual harassment prevention training, updates to rules on background checks and criminal history regulations, local and state minimum wage changes, classifying workers as independent contractors or employees, arbitration do’s and don’ts, the U.S. Supreme Court’s view on class waivers and Paid Family Leave amendments.

The cost is $85 before November 9, $95 after November 9 or at the door. Includes breakfast. To register, go to the East Ventura County EAC website, https://eastventuraeac.org and click on Upcoming Seminars.
