The YES Advisory Board coordinates a Job and Career Expo held at the Boys and Girls Club of Simi Valley each spring. The 31st annual Job & Career Expo will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, sponsored by the City of Simi Valley, Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley, and the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise.

Each year participation is free to businesses and youth. Annually, the event attracts over 300 youth job seekers between the ages of 15 and 22, and more than 60 employers.

During the Job and Career Expo, employers are on hand to provide information about their companies and accept applications. Many employers interview candidates on-the-spot and extend job offers the same day. Youth are encouraged to come dressed to impress and prepared to interview.

A wide range of employers and organizations participated in the successful 2017 YES Job and Career Expo:

The presentation includes how to complete a job application, how to dress to meet employers, and how to prepare for an interview. Students who are interested in learning when the Interview Skills Workshop will be offered at their school may contact the Youth Employment Service at (805) 583-6766 for details.
